2GIG EDGE™ Security and Automation Panel

The Edge alarm system shows the current system status on the top left corner (ex. Ready to Arm, Not Ready to Arm, etc.). Below the system status the current date, time, and the weather daily forecast will show. On the bottom left there is a red emergency button that allows you to access the Panic, Fire, and Emergency buttons. To access the panel setting, click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner. Lastly, the three large buttons on the home screen are to arm your security system in Stay Mode, arm in Away Mode, and access your Smart Home options.

The Edge smart security system has a single LED light on the top right corner. If the system is ready to arm and all sensors are closed, then the LED light will be a solid blue. When the LED is a solid white that means the system is not ready to arm because one or more sensors are open. When arming the Edge alarm system, it will show a solid red LED during the exit delay countdown and when the system is armed. Lastly, a blinking red light occurs during the entry delay countdown or when the system is in an alarm state. ­

There are many ways you can disarm the Edge security system. The first option is by pressing the Disarm button in the middle of the screen and entering your password. A couple of other ways to disarm your panel are by using the Alarm.com App on your smartphone or by using a key fob if you have one. The Edge panel is also the first security system with the option for Facial Recognition disarming. To use this feature, you must add users in the settings of the panel and toggle on the face recognition option for each user. The system will then give you on-screen instructions to capture a profile and complete the face recognition process using the onboard camera. To disarm the system using face recognition the user looks at the keypad and turns their head slightly to the right and then to the left. The system will then analyze the user's face and disarm the system if it is a registered user in the panel.
