If it is not changed you will get reminders from the monitoring centres and technical support teams. Do carbon monoxide detectors give false alarms?

No, we do not generally have issues with carbon monoxide detectors giving false alarms.

What do I do if my carbon monoxide detector goes off?

We recommend leaving the home immediately & calling the fire department if the monitoring station hasn't dispatched them already.

What happens if my security system is not armed?

If you do not have the alarm system armed then you will not receive any response from the monitoring station should a door be opened, motion-activated etc. However, the smoke and carbon detectors are always on and monitored whether the system is armed or not.

What happens if the fire alarm activates (and there’s no fire/emergency)?

If your fire alarm activates and there’s no actual fire or emergency, our monitoring station will still treat the signal seriously and attempt to verify the alarm by contacting you. If we’re unable to confirm it’s a false alarm, the fire department will be dispatched as a precaution to ensure your safety at all times.
