FAQs

What is the Quick Exit feature on the SImon XT?

The Quick Exit feature allows you to briefly leave your home while your system is armed (for instance to bring a package at your door inside). When you press the Disarm button on your alarm system the diplay will show the pre-programmed exit time (for example, one minute), and it will allow the designated exit door to be opened without triggering the alarm for that time period. The door may only be opened and closed once, if the door is closed behind you when you step outside then you will have to disarm the system upon re-entering. Make sure to leave the designated door open when using this feature. The Quick Exit feature is off by default but it can be turned on by your alarm system installer.

Can I arm the motion sensors and the entry points all at the same time?

You can arm all sensors on your alarm system by arming using the "Away" mode. This automatically arms the entire security system including all window sensors, door sensors and motion sensors.

How do I stop my Simon XT security alarm system from beeping?

"There are a few different methods that can be used to stop trouble beeps on the Simon XT security system.
  1. Press the Status button so that the system can inform you of the troubled condition. If it is an easy solution like changing a battery on a sensor then once the battery is changed, the beeping will stop.
  2. Press ""Status"" and then ""Disarm"" immediately after. If the troubled condition that the system announces is an issue you do not know how to resolve then this method will stop all beeping for 4 hours. Next, you should call your security provider's tech support line so that they can help get the problem resolved. If the problem is not resolved within 4 hours, the beeping will return and you would have to use this method again to restart the 4 hour time period.
  3. Call your security company's tech support and they can walk you through the process of turning off the trouble beeps permanently until a service technician is able to come fix the issue."
